Environmental and social policy

Our environmental and social policy has been affected in a most positive way in recent years.

In August 2016, A.C.Cooper took the decision to relocate from Central London to a new and purpose built studio based in leafy SW19. With 75% of our studio made from recycled materials, high density insulation and energy efficient lighting, it enables the company to operate more efficiently in a digital age.

Our approach to the environment as a result, is to consider and execute new methods of working and our attitude towards reducing our carbon footprint is a positive one. Recycling and the reduction of waste is at the forefront of our policy and we have made great steps in our mission statement to go green.

We are members of a leading car club which gives us access to a fleet of energy efficient cars including biofuel vehicles. We also use London taxis, public transport and even the Santander bicycle hire scheme where possible.

We are actively sending invoices and statements to our clients electronically and would encourage our suppliers and customers to do the same.

Conventional darkroom to close

Due to the rapid decline in both Black & White and duplicating services,A.C.Cooper has taken the decision to shut down it’s last surviving wet bench darkroom. Whilst we embrace technological advances in the industry, it is with great sadness that we have been forced to make this this decision. We will continue to produce prints from negatives however, this will now involve a scan and digital print. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Duplication film due to be discontinued.

After much deliberation within the industry, duplicating film is to be consigned to the history books. Kodak was the first to stop production over a year ago and now Fuji has decided to follow suit as it “Concentrates it’s marketing efforts on the more popular lines of professional films”. As a result the last batch of film has been produced and is due to be dispatched to the U.K. in the next couple of months.

We are pleased to report however that we have secured a reasonable size stock of this last batch and so we are confident of being able to supply the service for the rest of 2010 and potentially into 2011. Please do contact us to discuss this service in more detail.

A.C.Cooper archive comes out of the dark.

After years of lying dormant, a small selection of the archive at A.C.Cooper has finally sought a new lease of life. In conjunction with the William Blake 1809 exhibition currently showing at Tate Britain, we have digitized and made available for academic research a collection of William Blake images. Please go to our archive page to see a selection of these images which we are in the process of adding to. Information relating to both the originals and re-print ordering is available on request. We also welcome your feedback.
